Another Award Winning School Website Design for Box Clever Education
Thank you, thank you very much!
Life is good at Box Clever, working with such amazing clients makes everyday enjoyable. When we recently got word that our design for the Northland School Division website was graced with an award, well that just puts our happiness factor over the top!
We are thrilled to share that the website we designed for Northland has been awarded the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) Best in Class Award in the school website category.
According to the IMA: "The Best in Class award is the highest honour bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, your site had to successfully pass through our comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each of our judging criteria - an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year.”
Our relationship with Northlands began in 2013 when we were selected as the web design agency of choice for the project. The Northland School Division is deeply connected to the First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) cultures, with 95% of their student population identifying as FNMI. Being selected to build their division and school websites meant that our Box Clever team had to have an in-depth understanding of the culture and values that define the FNMI population in Alberta.
"Box Clever helped us design a beautiful website that showcases the FNMI culture in the jurisdiction and serves the needs of our students, parents, staff and community members."
Box Clever participated in multiple planning sessions that included the school division’s FNMI Coordinator, the division’s Advisory Committee, and an external Aboriginal Consultant out of Vancouver, to ensure that the historical and cultural roots of the FNMI community were properly represented in the design of the school division site. The final website design is one that all involved parties were confident highlighted the FNMI culture and history that is so important to the members of the school community. "We are pleased to see the judges recognized the planning and effort that went in our new website", said Curtis Walty, Northland School Division Communications Coordinator. "Box Clever helped us design a beautiful website that showcases the FNMI culture in the jurisdiction and serves the needs of our students, parents, staff and community members."
The IMA judges evaluate a website based on five criteria: Design, Content, Feature Functionality, Usability and Standards Compliance. The Northland website achieved extremely high marks in every category. We are very proud to have launched a website that perfectly blended tradition and technology into one fantastic K-12 FNMI website design. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to the team at Northland for their input and collaboration on this incredible project.
